Three concerts celebrating Brazil at the Baiser Salé

Samba, bossa nova, jazz and drums from the north-east: this November, the Baiser Salé, a jazz club in the Les Halles district of Paris, pays tribute to the richness of Brazilian music. Three evenings, three ways to celebrate Brazil: a birthday, a festival of rhythms and a journey to Rio.

18 November: Thierry Péala & Vérioca Lherm, 20 years of Franco-Brazilian collaboration

To mark the 20th anniversary of their duo, Thierry Péala and Vérioca Lherm are celebrating two decades of vocal jazz inspired by Brazil, featuring their own compositions alongside pieces by Tania Maria, Edu Lobo and Joyce Moreno. Joining them are percussionist Edmundo Carneiro, a long-standing collaborator of Tania Maria, and trombonist Roberto de Oliveira, a disciple of Raul de Souza, appearing as a guest for the first time.

20 November: Isaías Alves, the drums of Maranhão

The Brazil of festivals, processions and street drums comes to life with Isaías Alves, a percussionist and composer from São Luís. In his performances, tradition meets improvisation and rhythm becomes a language, in a #RDVavec... where every evening can take a different turn.

27 November: Catia Werneck, a celebration from Rio

A native of Rio, Catia Werneck brings Brazilian music to life with a blend of samba, bossa nova, jazz and soul, accompanied by Vincent Bidal on piano, Laurent Vernerey on bass and Stéphane Huchard on drums. A warm, festive evening full of joy.

Friday 27 November, 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm, two concerts lasting 1 hour 15 minutes each.
