To mark the release of its new album Vibes A Péyi Là, the Jocelyn Ménard Caribbean Jazz Group invites you to an evening of Caribbean jazz, groove and sharing.
With this new project, the group offers a fusion where the Caribbean takes centre stage: modern jazz, dance rhythms and Caribbean traditions intermingle in a lively, deeply rooted and resolutely collective music. This album is a continuation of Terre-Mère, a blend of cultural heritage and contemporary creation.
Saxophonist, composer and leader of the group, Jocelyn Ménard, a native of Montreal who has lived in Guadeloupe for over thirty years, has developed a style that draws on jazz, gwoka, funk and biguine.
He is surrounded by some of the leading musicians on the Caribbean scene:
Fabrice Devienne on piano, fine harmonic colours and a style that is attentive to groove and improvisation // Régis Thérèse on bass, a solid, fluid foundation // Arnaud Dolmen on drums, Caribbean traditions and contemporary jazz language.
An evening to discover the album live, vibrate to the sound of the Caribbean and share an intense and generous musical moment.
