We share with you our passion for jazz and the unique opportunity it represents as a bridge between various musical worlds, as well as audiences and culture.

It was in March 1983 that the Gibson’s Brothers took over 58 Rue des Lombards in the heart of Paris. These three successful Caribbean brothers, musicians and authors of, among other things, the global hit Cuba, decided to open Le Baiser Salé and turn it into a Café Concert where you could enjoy a drink while listening to a live band.

But it was in January 1984, more precisely on January 17, 1984, that the musical programming of this club took a turn towards creation and the musical style that, worldwide, defines Le Baiser Salé Jazz Club: MIXING!

Developing mixed creation music and going beyond the framework of the traditional jazz club are the goals of Patrick Francfort and Maria Rodriguez.

From those wild years, we remember all the exceptionally talented musicians who passed through this venue, using it as a springboard, and are now seen at the biggest international festivals; from Richard Bona to Angélique Kidjo, including Monica Passos, Ultramarine, Les Étoiles, Sylvain Luc, Rido Bayonne, Leni Stern, Thierry Elliez, Etienne Mbappé, Mario Canonge, Nguyen Le, Paco Sery, Arnaud Dolmen, Michel Alibo, and many more. Even Juliette Armanet had her first Piano/Voice concert here.

Here, musicians are free to create, invent, associate musics that don't usually mingle, mix names that don't know each other, try groups from which magic can emerge; this is where CHIC HOT was born, and so was ULTRAMARINE. More recently, ABRAHAM REUNION, YUSAN or MONSIEUR MALA, Sylvain Luc found a cozy corner at Le Baiser Salé where their music blossomed, solo and then in a duo with Stéphane Belmondo.

Le Baiser Salé gives wings...

And because celebrating 30 years of JAM is a must, musicians will take over the stage on Monday, January 22: François Constantin, Mario Canonge, Etienne Mbappé, Francis Arnaud, historical actors of our longevity, for a jam with the freedom of jazz, for an evening to heat up the instruments and bring together this incredible number of artists who have tirelessly roamed the stage of Le Baiser Salé.
