Tribute to Al Jarreau: a tribute concert led by Roger Biwandu

Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November 2026, at 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm

It’s not often that someone can sing jazz, pop and R&B with equal ease. Al Jarreau did it better than anyone: to this day, he remains the only singer to have won a Grammy Award in all three categories. After making a name for himself early on with his highly distinctive singing style, he really took off in 1980 with the album *This Time*, before cementing his success in 1981 with *Breakin’ Away*.

Over these two evenings, the ‘ Baiser Salé ’ pays tribute to him with a line-up of top-class musicians.

At the helm is Roger Biwandu, one of the most renowned drummers on the French music scene, who has worked with the likes of Jacques Higelin and Biréli Lagrène, and is just as at home on stage as he is in the role of musical director. Alongside him is Linley Marthe, a bassist from Mauritius whose distinctive style is steeped in the rhythms and colours of his native island. Hervé Saint-Guiron brings his sensitivity as a multi-instrumentalist, his love of jazz, soul and grand keyboards. And Bruno Endjeguélé completes the quartet with his warm voice, forged in a world where jazz, soul and groove intersect.
