Les Caribéennes de Mai: a 20ᵉ anniversary edition that rocks Baiser Salé!

Monday 11th May 2026

Since the beginning of the month, the first evenings of Les Caribéennes de Mai have been a great success at Baiser Salé. Loyal audiences, new discoveries, intense moments of improvisation and inspiring artistic encounters: this 20ᵉ anniversary edition once again confirms the festival's essential place in the Caribbean jazz and mixed music landscape.

Over the course of the concerts, we have had the pleasure of welcoming artists with rich and singular universes. Mario Canonge and Arnaud Dolmen got the ball rolling with a collaborative performance. Brazilian percussionist Isaías Alves brought the popular traditions of Maranhão to life in a vibrant and generous jam. Ruddy Boa continued his exploration of Gwo-Ka with Echoes of the Plaza, a powerful project where Guadeloupean heritage and musical modernity meet. Cuban trumpeter Jorge Vistel captivated the audience with Cuban SongBook, a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Cuban repertoire underpinned by bold, refined jazz.

And the adventure continues!

The festival continues until the end of the month, with more concerts, jams and original creations to be discovered in the unique atmosphere of Baiser Salé.

For this anniversary edition, we're delighted to be bringing together established artists and up-and-coming talent with the same aim: to encourage dialogue between cultures, generations and musical aesthetics. Olivier Ker Ourio, Mario Canonge, Arnaud Dolmen, Joanne Dolly, Thierry Fanfant, Jean-Philippe Fanfant, Lukmil Perez, Béatrice Civaton and many others are taking part in this exceptional programme, celebrating the richness of Caribbean and Afro-descendant music.

We look forward to seeing you there to celebrate this magnificent 20ᵉ anniversary edition of Les Caribéennes de Mai together!
