Formed in Buenos Aires in 2017 before settling in Paris, the Pablo Murgier Trio explores a form of jazz that is free and open to the world. Combining original compositions with a wide range of influences – from Sakamoto to Björk, via Led Zeppelin – their music draws on the sounds of South America as well as literary and cinematic worlds, from Alfred Hitchcock to Alice Zeniter, via Baptiste Morizot. The trio crafts unique soundscapes, where jazz becomes a realm of exploration and emancipation.
With Romain Lécuyer on double bass and Miguel Couto on drums, the group has released three albums: *Muy Lejos* (2017), nominated for the Gardel Awards and awarded first prize at Tango Sin Fin, the EP *Reflets* (2020) and *Gare du Sud* (2022). They are currently working on their next album, *The Animal We Are*, and are performing tracks from it live.
