A leading figure on the international jazz scene, Glenn Ferris takes to the stage at the Club for a bimonthly performance with his ‘Newtet’, an electric quartet brimming with raw energy and drawing on a wide range of influences. Known for his expressive playing and his ability to transcend genres, Glenn Ferris – who has collaborated with giants such as Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder, Billy Cobham and Archie Shepp – is joined here by three exceptional musicians for a resolutely contemporary musical adventure.
On electric bass, Bruno Rousselet – a mainstay of the French jazz scene – combines groove, precision and rare musicality. On guitar, Mike Felberbaum, renowned for his sharp harmonic sense and inspired improvisations, infuses the music with rock energy and a fiery modernity. Finally, on drums, the powerful yet subtle Jeff Boudreaux, a native of New Orleans, resonates the roots of the African-American groove through every beat.
The ‘Newtet’s’ repertoire blends original compositions with daring reinterpretations of songs by Ray Charles, Bob Marley, Gino Vannelli and other iconic figures. Together, they weave a unique sonic tapestry, at the crossroads of jazz, blues, eclectic rock, reggae, Afrobeat and Caribbean grooves. A rare concert, an intense and exhilarating musical journey, brought to life by four artists at the very peak of their art. Not to be missed under any circumstances!
