The duo formed by Jean-Jacques Elangue on saxophone and Josselin Arhiman on piano embodies above all the meeting of two musical sensibilities, two generations, united around the same language: jazz in all its diversity. In this intimate, uncluttered formula, centred on listening and dialogue, the two musicians develop a space of freedom where original compositions and standards from the repertoire intersect, leaving room for improvisation, exchange and sound exploration.
Jean-Jacques Elangue, a saxophonist from the French-language jazz scene, is involved in projects that combine contemporary jazz and Afro-Caribbean influences, with his playing centred on sound and improvisation. He has shared the stage with artists such as Tom McClung, Alain Jean-Marie, Tony Allen, Emmanuel Djob & Afro soul gang, Damon Albarn and Manu Dibango. And so many others. Josselin Arhiman, pianist and composer, has forged a path between modern jazz, Creole music and improvised practices, through his many collaborations on the jazz and 'métissée' scenes.
