#FestivalJazzSurSeine2026 - JULIEN CORIATT – BRAND NEW QUINTET

The Brand New Quintet marks its grand return with a repertoire that is decidedly… brand new! Blending jazz with Creole music, the group offers an evening steeped in Caribbean flair, pulsating with rhythms, traditions and living heritage.

Led by a top-class line-up, pianist Julien Coriatt is joined by Amina Mezaache, a leading figure in world music and jazz in France, who develops a unique style blending tradition and modernity; Sonny Troupé, a master of the ka drum, grounds his playing in Guadeloupean heritage whilst projecting it into contemporary forms; Stefano Lucchini, a renowned Italian drummer, brings a finesse and energy honed on Europe’s major stages; Damian Nueva, a double bassist with a deep and subtle groove, anchors the ensemble with elegance; whilst Julien Coriatt brings these worlds together through sensitive and daring composition. Five exceptional musicians, each with a rich and unique background, whose camaraderie and artistic rigour give the project its full strength and distinctiveness.
