TONY CHASSEUR QUINTET

Tony Chasseur is a voice and an energy that have been traversing Caribbean music for three decades, an artist who knows how to keep tradition alive while reinventing it.

For this evening, he is joined on piano by Thierry Vaton, with whom he shares a deep musical complicity. Their bond goes back to the adventure of the Big Band MizikOpéyi, an ambitious project that brought together major musicians around a contemporary reinterpretation of Martinican music. Their shared experience forged a particularly sensitive rapport and freedom of expression on stage. They are joined by Rody Céréyon on bass, David Donatien on percussion and Grégory Louis on drums.

Together, they form a quintet that explores the full richness of Creole jazz, between improvisation and spellbinding melodies. Tony Chasseur's unique aesthetic is a lively dialogue between Caribbean beats, jazz harmonies, zouk and traditional rhythms.
