Ariel Tintar is an artist divided between France and the Caribbean, between French and Creole, modernity and heritage. His music, which blends acoustic and electronic elements, explores personal themes such as identity, racism and the struggle to find one’s place in the world.
Having gone by the name Ariel Ariel for many years, he has now returned to his real name, as a way of rediscovering a more authentic identity. The pretence, which he describes as a former survival mechanism, is gradually giving way to a sense of freedom.
His travels, from Martinique to Morocco and as far as Brazil, have enriched his music and broadened his influences. There, he discovers new sounds, particularly through Brazilian artists who have had a profound impact on his artistic world.
Surrounded by collaborators from diverse backgrounds, Ariel describes himself as a ‘bringer of people together’. He continues to learn, travel and explore, always in search of what resonates with him. His new path ultimately seems quite simple: to move forward, freely, towards his true self.
TISS+ Week presents a programme designed as a space for encounters, centred on heritage, memory, spirituality, Creole identity and the passing on of traditions. Between reinvented traditions and new forms of expression, different worlds intersect and respond to one another to create unique programmes, conceived as genuine spaces for creation.
A week that builds on the DNA of the ‘ Baiser Salé ’: fostering cross-pollination, circulating influences and forging links between generations, cultures and sensibilities.
