Enhanced by the cultural diversity of the band’s members, the defining feature of Monsieur Mâlâ’s music is a 360-degree musical approach: jazz, rock, funk, electronic, African, Caribbean… All underpinned by a shared, boundless love for grooves of all kinds and improvised music.

Born in Paris from the coming together of five musicians with strong personalities, Monsieur Mâlâ weaves influences together rather than juxtaposing them. Violin and electric mandolin sit alongside saxophones and English horn, whilst Fender Rhodes and keyboards interact with a deep bass and driving drums. The result: instrumental music that is at once organic, sophisticated and incredibly danceable.
