KATERINA PIPILI QUARTET

Katerina Pipili is an artist who traces her path between heritage and freedom. Classically trained from childhood, with a background in jazz and influences ranging from the New York scene to contemporary European sounds, she has developed her own demanding yet accessible music, in which emotion remains central.

In her compositions, you can hear the influence of great voices like Nina Simone or Esperanza Spalding, in the way she blends depth, groove and narrative. But Katerina Pipili doesn't copy anything: she builds a world of her own, made up of contrasts, between fine structures and spaces open to improvisation.

Her album Room for Blue is a good example of this: a work on nuances, colours, inner states - with particular attention paid to the arrangements and the interaction between the musicians. And that's precisely where the stage comes into its own.

In concert, his songs evolve and breathe differently. The themes are transformed, the exchanges become denser, the unexpected invites itself in. What is written becomes alive. What is played becomes shared.
