Franck Monbaylet's music is striking for its clarity and evocative power. It is at once orchestrated and intimate, narrative and cinematic, capable of stimulating the imagination while touching the emotions directly. Its foundation is deeply jazz, but it knows no boundaries: there are classical colours, Spanish, South American and African accents, always integrated in a natural way. On stage, this wealth of influences translates into a dynamic that immediately grabs your attention, giving each piece a unique, palpable quality.
With this trio, founded in 2025, Franck wanted to get straight to the point. Three musicians, but a complete universe. The sobriety of the instruments never diminishes the power of the music; on the contrary, it exposes it and brings it to light. The lyricism of Franck's piano, nourished by his classical training on the violin and his taste for the melodies of the early XXᵉ century, blends with the precise, elegant lines of Michel, also classically trained. Together, they construct musical phrases that breathe, that tell a story, that intertwine.
Virtuosity emerges from energy and pulse. Franck adds rhythms and momentum that take on their full dimension thanks to Dawoud, a recognised master of complex rhythms. His drums don't just
It sculpts time, accentuates breathing and transforms each track into a living experience.
This minimalist trio has given birth to new compositions, and their collaboration has inspired an album due for release in mid-June. Sobriety and power, lyricism and virtuosity: this is the trio's equation, capable of captivating jazz fans and classical music lovers alike, and transporting audiences on a sonic journey where every note counts.
