CHRISTOPHE LABORDE INVITE LOUIS MOUTIN / MAURO GARGANO / KARIM BLAL
21h00
The music of this quartet is like a conversation between friends: warm, lively, and full of color. Between original compositions and jazz influences from yesterday and today, we dive into the inspired world of Christophe Laborde, whose writing combines simple melodies and refined structures. On stage, it flows, it bounces, it really makes you listen. Improvisation is a playground where everyone brings their own energy. Christophe Laborde, who has played alongside Anne Ducros, René Urtreger, Alain Jean-Marie, Simon Goubert, Eric Lelann, the Belmondo brothers, Michel Benita and Jean-François Jenny-Clark, creates music that is sincere, lively and full of momentum. Karim Blal, trained by masters such as Barry Harris and Kenny Barron, has performed on stages all over the world. His inventive, ever-changing playing combines standards, groove, and new ideas with infectious energy. On double bass, Mauro Gargano provides the foundation, support, and that little poetic touch that makes all the difference. With a background in classical music and jazz, and a student of Furio Di Castri, Paolo Fresu, and Enrico Rava, he enriches the group with his sense of sound and imagination.
And, of course, Louis Moutin, who switched from equations to drums, and whom we have seen with Martial Solal, Tigran Hamasyan, and Dee Dee Bridgewater. A vibrant, generous musician who clearly takes great pleasure in advancing music. A close-knit, warm, and curious quartet that offers lively, joyful music full of wonderful surprises.
