Gabe Zinq was born into music. Encouraged by his family, he began his musical journey, first with the piano, then the drums, and finally found his calling with the guitar. At the age of 14, he had the opportunity to gain his first professional experience touring with his mother, Dee Dee Bridgewater, on her project “Red Earth: A Malian Journey.” It was during this time, surrounded by an impressive group of musicians, that Gabe realized he had found his calling. After several years of touring with various projects, Gabe enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston to broaden his influences and deepen his musical experience. He found himself immersed in a highly talented musical community where he had the opportunity to work with John Blackwell, Lenny Stallworth, and Theo Croker, among others. Enriched by all these encounters, he returned to France to focus on his personal project, ZinQ. This project aims to combine and transcend the musical influences that now accompany him. Recently, he had the opportunity to open for two legends: George Benson, then Roy Ayers and China Moses. His inspirations range from Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone, and Prince to George Duke, Miles Davis, Thundercat, and Anderson Paak, with a hip-hop vibe reminiscent of J Dilla. For this project, he plays bass, sings, and composes. He has finished writing the album and has just recorded the first two tracks (singles), “Do Right Man” and “Ready,” which are currently available on streaming platforms
