Get ready for a breath of fresh jazz air! John Coltrane was, for the four members of this unique quartet, a mentor and the catalyst for their desire to play music. Brought together by Philippe Gleizes and Joachim Govin, the group held numerous rehearsals focusing on Coltrane's music, particularly the recordings he made between 1964 and 1967. After a remarkable and intensely powerful concert in a Parisian club, the four friends decided to continue the adventure and pay tribute to the Master through a series of concerts. True to the original spirit of the group, they each bring their own individuality and sensibilities to the table.
Behind his saxophone, Boris Blanchet combines power, lyricism, and that little bit of madness that raises eyebrows from the very first notes. He is known for his adventures with major orchestras and his competition prizes that shine like medals, but tonight he comes with a beating heart and incandescent breath. And, as he himself says: “Without wanting to brag, I think we have something powerful when we play this music with this group.”
