Fast-paced jazz, luminous melodies, lyrical outbursts and barely contained energy. Our quartet of choice celebrates Michel Petrucciani, a flamboyant pianist of virtuoso and deeply expressive playing. Despite his frail health, he left his mark on world jazz with his freedom, sensitivity and uncommon intensity. To bring his spirit to life, Pierre Alain Goualch appropriates the piano with inventiveness, accompanied by Yoann Schmitt on drums and Gilles Coquard on bass, all three accomplices in a lively and generous re-reading. And as always, François Constantin is on hand to set the stage abuzz: a percussionist who can't be ignored, he's the instigator and master of the jam session, infusing it with the joyful, collective energy that's the hallmark of these unique evenings. The jam session will then open up to the musicians present, so that together, in the momentum of the moment, we can continue this beautiful tribute to an unforgettable musician. On stage, it's he who sets the tone, pushes forward the improvisations, and makes both instruments and hearts vibrate.
