JAM SESSION avec Caloé

Ella Fitzgerald is all about formidable precision, luminous swing and inimitable vocal freedom. A singer of a thousand nuances, she embodied jazz at its most generous and demanding. To pay tribute to her, Caloé surrounds itself with a trio rooted in listening and movement: Damien Groleau, an inventive pianist with a refined style, Solène Cairoli, a double bassist with a supple, singing groove, and Julien Roger, a fine, dynamic drummer, all revival and breath. Together, they revisit Ella's repertoire without imitating her, drawing on her energy, rhythmic audacity and love of playing together. The first part of the concert, full of relief and freedom, is followed by a jam session open to all, a natural extension of the concert, a place for meeting and spontaneity, faithful to the joyful, unifying spirit of jazz that Ella so profoundly embodied.

Caloé is an exceptional voice who embodies French vocal jazz with elegance and inventiveness. Singer, composer and improviser, she brilliantly blends jazz, pop, folk and classical music, offering music rich in emotion and nuance. Born into a family of music lovers, Caloé began playing the violin at the age of 4, and improvisation immediately became part of her language. She discovered jazz in her teens, and has remained faithful ever since. On stage, Caloé captivates audiences with her generous presence, impeccable vocal technique and masterful scat playing.
