JEFF LUDOVICUS QUINTET

Led by drummer and composer Jeff Ludovicus, this quintet offers modern jazz with groove and world accents, and delivers original, vibrant compositions open to improvisation. Of Haitian origin, this true sculptor of atmosphere is known for his expressive playing and his compositions blending jazz, soul, Afro, pop and blues. He has been known as a sideman for Imany, but his influences include Sting, Prince and Al Jarreau, and he has also played with Saint Germain, Idrissa Diop, China Moses and Asa. To thrill his audience with his soaring melodies, Jeff Ludovicus surrounds himself with singer Lisa Berri and her expressive, nuanced voice, carried by Laurian Daire's subtle piano. On bass, Jean-Christophe Raufaste anchors the harmonies with finesse, while Guilhem Séguin brings warmth and relief with his percussion and cajon.
