A meeting between the legendary Argentine accordionist Raul Barboza and the inspired bandoneonist Ninon Valder, during the tribute to Juan Jose Mosalini in November 2023, and here they are as a duo on stage at the Club. Two bellows mingling to create a breath of poetry, air and sharing in Argentine music. Ninon invites Raul on her album En mi Corazon, and here we are today at the Baiser Salé for this premiere! Born in Buenos-Aires, Raúl Barboza's parents are of Guarani Indian origin. His childhood was lulled by the traditional chamamé music of the province of Corrientes (Argentina), played by his father, himself a worker, orchestra conductor and guitarist. He chose the diatonic accordion, which he learned at the age of seven. He recorded several albums and, in 1987, performed at the Trottoirs de Buenos Aires in Paris - the undisputed temple of tango - where he was recommended by Astor Piazzolla. He then moved to the French capital, where he met Richard Galliano, Marcel Azzola, Jo Privat, Daniel Colin, Marc Perrone... Raúl Barboza is not only an accordionist and master of the chamamé, he is also an engaging personality full of generosity, attentive to nature and the spirits.
