15 years after the release of his critically acclaimed album French Stories autour de la Chanson Française, featuring John Patitucci and Terri Lyne Carrington, pianist Cédric Hanriot, who has also collaborated with Herbie Hancock and Dianne Reeves, offers a singular rereading of these popular French songs (Brel, Gainsbourg, Fugain, Piaf). For this concert, Cédric Hanriot invites the fabulous trumpeter Raynald Colom - considered to be one of the finest European trumpeters of his generation, who studied with Roy Hargrove, Clark Terry and Wynton Marsalis, and has played in jazz, flamenco and pop. On double bass, Matteo Bortone, is establishing himself nationally, not only as an instrumentalist, but also as a composer and leader, particularly after being voted “Best New Italian Talent 2015” by Musica Jazz journalists. Jesús Vega, a Californian drummer based in Berlin, will complete this talented quartet.
“Cédric is one of the most talented musicians I know. His many talents, from mastery of piano and keyboards to sound design, composition and arranging, make him an incredible musician and artist. Cédric is destined for great things... ” Terri Lyne Carrington (drummer for Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, 3 Grammy Awards)
