Folk singer-songwriter Ben Jones finds inspiration in the fusion of traditional and contemporary folk music. His heartfelt lyrics and melodies reflect a deep love of storytelling. Originally from the Paris region, Matis grew up in the south of France surrounded by a family of artists, with a composer father and an author mother. He began his musical studies at the Perpignan Conservatory. After earning his DEM (Degree of Professional Studies) in 2021, he decided to move to Paris, began frequenting the city's clubs, and became involved in various projects. In September that same year, he enrolled at the Pôle Supérieur de Paris Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB), where he is currently continuing his musical studies, notably with Martin Wangermée.
