MATHILDE GARDIEN - "Racines"

As part of her #JazzDeDemain residency, Mathilde Gardien brings together 4 talented musicians to pay homage to Pat Metheny, a mythical, unclassifiable and prolific artist who has never ceased to reinvent himself and inspire generations of musicians. The Pat Metheny Group will bring to life the guitarist-composer's various key periods, reviving his finest compositions (notably those by the Metheny-Mays duo), alternating between soaring atmospheres and virtuoso epics. The Pat Metheny Group's music draws on a wide range of influences: jazz, folk, rock, country, world music (including Brazilian music, especially that of Milton Nascimento), classical music (especially Impressionist composers)...

At the end of 2019, Mathilde Gardien took the biggest step of her life, and threw herself into music, reconnecting with her first passion. After two years' training at the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood, she now performs in a variety of musical groups as a singer and composer: MENALUA, La Mécanique des Songes, Azulera Duo... Launched in 2012, the #JazzDeDemain program has initiated a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies. This framework offers young artists a valuable opportunity to experiment on stage, refine their repertoire and present it to the public.
