Bring together nine up-and-coming musicians, each more talented than the last, in a group with Afro-Brazilian, jazz and Afro-Caribbean influences, creating synergy and irresistible freedom of expression. Founded in 2023 by Jamayê Viveiros (trumpet) and Tristan Boulanger (percussion) following a trip to Brazil, the group is distinguished by a modern sound that pays tribute to the traditional rhythms of Northeastern Brazil, such as Baião, Forró, Maracatu and Afoxé. His music is a playground where influences intersect and intertwine in a constant search for novelty. It's a music where melody and rhythm meet without barriers, where each musician finds his or her place in a collective harmony. In short, Sapocaya is a group full of vitality, taking the pulse of the Brazil of yesterday and today to offer free, colorful music, spicy jazz that calls for dancing!
