The main idea behind the “2 pianos pour 1 voie (x)” trio is to grow a tree where each fruit symbolizes a musical path. In this collaboration, seeds are sown in the form of notes that germinate the essence of the texts. Thierry Vaton's and Georges Granville's pianos, like gardeners working together, bring depth and complexity, while Joachim DesOrmeaux's voice is the bark and sap, giving new impetus to each song. “2 pianos pour 1 voie (x)” trio thus becomes a path of therapy, a path of thought and hope. It will tell the story of Martinique, and more broadly the Caribbean, through rhythms, melodies and life situations, featuring everyday emotions such as joy, the ability to stand up, struggle or serenity. The result is an intense musical and emotional experience.

Joachim Des Ormeaux is a jazz artist, poet and storyteller with an almost shamanic charisma who has developed a unique sound and style in the beautiful jazz galaxy. His childhood was steeped in the jazz and soul of the '80s, but he developed his taste for music in the streets of the working-class neighborhoods of Fort de France, Martinique, where he played tambous, ti bwa and other instruments, as well as storytellers and singers from Caribbean traditions such as Eugène Mona, Ti' Emile and Marius Cultier.

A Martinican musician with a powerful style and accomplished technical skills, Thierry Vaton has been revealing his passion since 1972. From drums to flute, all instruments suit him, but it's the piano that will make his career. A pianist with bouncing notes, Thierry puts his talent at the service of the most diverse styles and cultures. From 1987 to the present day, Thierry Vaton has taken part in numerous concerts and studio recordings.

Georges Granville, a versatile artist, has for many years been asserting himself as a pianist-keyboardist with undeniable melodic generosity and harmonic finesse. Over the past 25 years, his eclectic taste has led him to collaborate with artists from many different horizons: John Ellison, Kassav, Boy Gé Mendès, Abd Al Malik and JUL. As a composer and co-author of didactic works, he has left an indelible mark on the world of music, notably with the publication of his three books, including “Le Piano dans la Musique Créole”, released since 2013.
