Known for his virtuoso and creative drumming, Matis will take you on a musical journey dedicated to Steve Lacy, the renowned singer and multi-instrumentalist famous for his captivating voice and innovative musical approach. As a member of the group The Internet and an acclaimed solo artist, Lacy skillfully blends R&B, soul, and pop influences with jazz and improvisation.

Originally from the Paris region, Matis grew up in the south of France surrounded by a family of artists, with a composer father and a writer mother. He began his musical journey at the Perpignan Conservatory. With his DEM diploma in hand in 2021, he decided to move to Paris, where he started frequenting the city's clubs and getting involved in various projects. In September of the same year, he joined the Pôle Supérieur de Paris Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB). His influences include Robert Glasper, Kendrick Lamar, Nick Hakim, and SiR, and he draws inspiration from renowned drummers like CJ Thompson, Justin Tyson, Taron Lockett, and Rico Nichols.
