ILLYES FERFERA “TCHOUKCHOUKA” QUINTET

Franco-Algerian saxophonist Illyes Ferfera decided to put together a high-flying quintet, with the finest musicians of the new Parisian generation around him.

Together, they navigate territories at the crossroads of multiple worlds: from the ternary rhythms of North Africa (which Illyes Ferfera explores and hijacks in his compositions), to the modes of Olivier Messiaen, via sounds directly inspired by the New York jazz scene. A music full of freshness, rhythmic finesse and risk-taking.
