Erroll Garner remains one of the most distinctive figures in the history of jazz. A self-taught pianist with an incomparable touch, the composer of the standard ‘Misty’ and a master of a swing style as free as it is elegant, he developed an instantly recognisable musical language in which virtuosity, lyricism and a sense of rhythm are one and the same. With this quartet, Jean Michel Bernard celebrates the legacy of this exceptional musician alongside François Constantin, William Brunard and Romain Sarron. Together, they revisit Garner’s world with respect and personality, recapturing the infectious energy and freedom that made him a legend. This project accompanies the forthcoming release of an album dedicated to Erroll Garner, expected between September and December, and offers the chance to enjoy a sneak preview of a repertoire in which the elegance of Erroll Garner’s piano playing meets the chemistry and freedom of a first-rate quartet.
