#RDVavec MAGIC MALIK QUARTET XP

With the XP Quartet – XP standing for ‘Experience’, of course – Magic Malik continues to forge ahead into uncharted territory, where jazz reinvents itself at every moment. A flautist with a unique perspective, curious about everything, he handles sounds as one might play with light: by shifting shadows and bringing out unexpected colours. His flute speaks, breathes and plays, carried by that instantly recognisable energy that runs through all his music. 
Alongside him are three musicians who are as inventive as they are attentive: Maïlys Maronn on piano, who has also been part of the Kafrobeat project; Jean-Luc Lehr on bass, drawing on traditions from India, Africa and Eastern Europe; and Vincent Sauve on drums, somewhere between intuitive jazz and aleatoric music. Together, they transform the stage into a space for collective improvisation, where shifting grooves, surprising harmonies and fleeting melodies follow one another without anything ever feeling fixed. 
Following a dazzling live album recorded at the Baiser Salé, acclaimed for its freshness and spontaneity, the XP Quartet continues on its path: music that is vibrant, demanding and generous all at once – to be experienced with eyes closed and heart wide open.
