For the Caribéennes de Mai festival, François Constantin is opening the door wide and letting the great vibes of the West Indies into his jams. With its incandescent grooves, sun-drenched rhythms and high-flying guests, May promises to be an evening where jazz is clearly on the move... and it's up to you to work out which groove masters are turning up the heat. On percussion and lead, François Constantin provides the energy and leads Léo Montana on piano, Felipe Cabrera on double bass and Lukmil Perez Herrera on drums in a musical conversation that burns with inventiveness. Themes intertwine, rhythms ignite and solos fly in a joyous and contagious complicity. A one-hour concert to set the scene, then the JAM goes wild and the stage becomes a playground open to all, amateurs, pros and the curious: here, everyone can get a taste of the warmth and freedom of the West Indies. Evenings that are resolutely lively, generous and irresistibly danceable.
